Personal Pet Program

We offer limited-scope veterinary services at a discount at the GK office and GKPAC for volunteers’ owned personal pets. This is not intended as a replacement for your personal vet, but instead to help cut costs for vet care while working in conjunction with your personal vet. 

Who qualifies? 

  • Employees of Good Karma

  • Current, active Good Karma volunteers and volunteers 

    • Must be on board as foster or volunteer for at least two months 

    • If long-time volunteer or foster, must have been active as a volunteer or foster in past three months 

For personal pets only; not for the pets of friends or family members 

 

Fees & details

  • Appointment fee of $15 per pet to be paid when making appointment, non-refundable.

  • Proof of payment of appointment fees (e.g. screenshot or payment confirmation number) should be sent via messenger to the GK Vet Office Page. If not paid within 24 hours, the appointment may be canceled. 

  • Additional fees on the day of the appointment can be paid online via Facebook, PayPal, Venmo, or Cash app, or using PayPal swipe at office. 

  • Appointment fee is forfeited if no-call, no-show for appointment. 

  • Fee forfeited if more than 10 minutes late to appointment with no contact to office staff through GK vet page. 

 

Limitations & details 

  • Only two pets per day of appointments. 

  • Test results for sent-out labwork will be sent to you in the form of a PDF in email in order for you to forward to your treatment veterinarian.

Safety 

  • No fractious pets. 

  • No animals with a bite history or who may pose a bite risk. 

  • Pet may be muzzled at discretion of vet tech. 

  • Vet tech may choose to not handle pet based upon behavior if concerned about safety; if we do not provide any care based upon the pet’s behavior, appointment fee will be refunded. 

  • You may be asked to help restrain your pet for sample draws, etc. If you are not comfortable restraining your pet, you should take your pet to your regular veterinarian for the services.

Vaccines

  • Cats: FVRCP, feline core vaccine - $13 

  • Dogs: DHPP, canine core vaccine - $13

  • Dogs: Bordetella (“kennel cough”) $13 

 

Visiting provider services

  • Ultrasound - $300

  • Echocardiogram - $350

 

In-house diagnostics & bloodwork

  • Skin scrape - $15 

  • Ear cleaning - $10, add ear cytology $20

  • Fungal culture - $15 (results take about 3 weeks)

  • Canine 4Dx testing - $30 (tests for heartworm and 3 tickborne diseases; recommended as annual heartworm test for any dogs with exposure to ticks) 

  • Canine heartworm only test - $12

  • Feline triple test (FIV/FeLV/heartworm) - $28

  • Feline leukemia only test - $25

  • Panleukopenia snap test - $40

  • Nail trim - $15

  • Microchip - $5 if registering microchip at time of appointment. If you do not register at time of appointment, microchip cost is $25. 

  • Fecal exam - $15 

    • Should always bring a fecal sample, which must be within 12 hours old and refrigerated.

    • If you cannot get a fecal sample for time of appointment, foster can pay at time of appointment and drop off fresh fecal sample on a day when we are staffed with a vet tech within 30 days to have fecal read.

    • If you would like to drop off a follow-up fecal sample within 30 days of your appointment for a recheck, you can do that at the $15 cost with no appointment.  

    • If pet is fed raw diet, add $8; total fecal fee $23. Fecal will be sent out and read at lab due to increased risk of salmonella to staff.

Please note that if your pet requires preanesthetic bloodwork, it should be dated within 30 days of your pet’s anesthetic procedure. If you require any type of bloodwork or labs that are not listed, speak with Office Manager for availability and pricing. It is likely that we can help you with any routine type of bloodwork or diagnostics.

  • Senior (27, SDMA, CBC, total T4 and urinalysis) - $100 

  • Routine/pre-anesthetic bloodwork (chem 27, SDMA, CBC and urinalysis) - $65 

  • Anesthetic young - $65 

  • Urinalysis - $27

  • Ear culture - $100

  • Diarrhea panel - $75

  • Skin culture - $115

  • Kidney profile recheck - $48

  • Titer testing - $185 (canine distemper); $335 (rabies)

Deworm with Panacur (TWO 3-day courses, to be administered 3 weeks apart)

Coccidia treatment with Ponazuril (one 3-day course)
